Club Projects

How’m I Brewin’ is an ongoing series of projects intended to sharpen the brewing skills of those who choose to participate. Some projects are very tightly defined, with identical kits of ingredients and strict instructions. Some are completely free-style, as in, try to brew the best Kölsch you can brew, or try to brew Sierra Nevada Pale Ale using a recipe of your choice. Some projects are somewhere in between. The cost of kit-based projects is usually subsidized about 50% by the club. The time span of each project may vary from a couple of months to a few months, depending on the style being attempted. A target date (or possibly dates) is set for tasting and comparing participants’ resulting beers. The beers are usually evaluated informally by all the participants. Tasting of club-subsidized projects is opened to the membership.
