The Tennessee Valley Homebrewers Association is a member oriented club for homebrewers and beer enthusiasts in Knoxville, TN and the surrounding areas. Our members represent all levels of home brewing experience from accomplished veterans to folks who have never brewed beer before. We invite any and all interested parties to join us for fellowship and appreciation of the vast array of beer available to the thirsty masses.

Dues to join the Tennessee Valley Homebrewers are $25 per year.  These dues are not pro-rated, but if you join after October 31st, your dues will carry through the following year.

Some of you may be asking, "What does my $25 per year actually get me? ". Here's the short list:

1) Membership to a club comprised of homebrewers of all levels...from very basic beginners to national award winning veterans. A widely varied group, brought together by one common theme - BREWING!

2) Access to knowledgeable advice, troubleshooting and feedback on your homebrew. Need a recipe? Wanting to enter a competition? Lost when it comes to picking substitute ingredients? Having problems with your equipment? Want to know more about a particular style? Need help with equipment design and construction? With the tremendous amount of brewing experience in the club, you can be guaranteed that someone can help you out.

3) Access to brewing periodicals. Looking for recipe ideas? Want to read up on new yeast strains? Need some DIY project instructions? We've got you covered. The TVH has an extensive library that contains brewing periodicals (Brew Your Own and Zymurgy) as well as brewing texts that can be checked out by club members.

4) The TVH is the backbone of the Knoxville Brewers' Jam, East Tennessee's biggest beer festival. We provide volunteer support to the professional brewers and a little bit of hard work to make the festival happen. In addition we have our own tent and serve up some delicious homebrew. Just ask any Brewers' Jam regulars about the legendary Toasted Coconut Porter!

5) BAMO's. What's a BAMO? It's a Big Ass Malt Order. It's your chance to save a bunch of money by ordering brewing ingredients and supplies in bulk direct from a national distributor. Typically done 2 to 3 times per year, savings range anywhere from 20 to 50 percent off retail, sometimes more! Cleaning agents, hops, base grain and specialty grain orders are pooled together club-wide and shipped by the pallet to a convenient location here in Knoxville. The savings alone more than pay for your yearly membership dues!

6) What you put into it. The club is only as good as its members make it. It's what each person puts in that contributes to the TVH reputation. Hosting brew-outs and meetings, lending a helping hand, giving advice and encouraging each other - it's what homebrewers do to feed our addiction and advance the art of brewing.

We typically meet once a month for sanctioned club functions at various locations. We sometimes meet at member’s homes for brewing demonstrations and tasting sessions or at local Brewpubs and Taverns with a wide variety of beers available. We also meet ad-hoc whenever someone declares an “emergency” - these meetings are much less formal and are coordinated through the membership e-mail list. You can see our list of current officers by clicking here along with their contact information. For general inquiries, please contact us
at info@knoxhomebrewer.com.

Club dues must be paid by March 1st of each calendar year for all current members.  Unpaid members will be removed from the information distribution list on that date.  While you can catch up your dues after this date, please be advised that this creates some inconvenience to your webmaster and other club officers.  Your prompt attention is appreciated.  In addition, you have to be a member in good standing for 90 days prior to the annulal Brewer's Jam in order to participate as a club member.  All this in saying, please keep your membership current.

Paying dues is simple and easy.  Dues are $25 per year. You can pay 3 ways:

  1. Use PayPal
This the easiest, quickest, and preferred method.  SImply send your dues via PayPal to Jason Tucker (our club treasurer) and in the memo section, reference "dues" or something like that.

  2. Send a Check
You can send a personal check made out to "Tennessee Valley Homebrewers" to the following address:

    Tennessee Valley Homebrewers
    P.O. Box 32552
    Knoxville, TN 37930-2552

  3. Pay cash to a Club Officer at a club meeting
While this may sound easy, it's a bit cumbersome.  First, you have to find a club officer, then you have to trust him/her to actually give the money to the club treasurer.  Use this method as a last resort.
