Fill the kettle and prep your ingredients, it's homebrew time!
I am helping coordinate the 2nd annual Homebrewer's event in collaboration with Orange Hat Brewing and The Brewing & Distilling Center that will take place the afternoon of Saturday, January 27th. All proceeds will be going to help establish a brewer/distiller scholarship fund that will be run through the BDC. We had an amazing time at this event earlier this year, and are hoping to pump it up this time.
The basic format will have a similar feel to Homebrew Rendezvous but without any attention paid to club affiliations (but the local clubs will be offering assistance with equipment and shared pouring spaces). This will be a solo sport with brewer applications open to the public and limited to a maximum of 25 homebrews. About 150-200 tickets will be available through Orange Hat, but final details are still in the works.
There will be trophies in multiple categories, including 3rd/2nd/1st place People's Choice as well as the much-coveted Brewer's Choice.
If you are interested in participating, head over to Orange Hat's website ( https://www.orangehatbrewing.com/general-7 ) and scroll to the bottom to enter. All participating brewers will get free entry, but no "plus 1". We'll sort out the beer details as we get closer.
This event is open to the public for all homebrewers, regardless of club affiliation! Brewer registration closes on 1/20/24. Each brewer must provide 5 gallons of a single type of beer. We'll meet for setup at Orange Hat @ 10AM the day of the fest.
